Creswell Crags is a limestone gorge honeycombed with caves and smaller fissures. Stone tool and remains of animals found in the caves by archaeologists provides evidence for a fascinating story of life during the last Ice Age between 50,000 and 10,000 years ago. Creswell Crags was among the most northerly places on earth to have been visited by our ancient ancestors, a story that is unique on a European and World scale.

The Oakwood Real Ale and Music Festival
The aim of the festival is to raise funds to benefit the pupils of Oakwood Technology College (formerly Oakwood School). It is organised by Rotherham CAMRA and Oakwood 400 Club. The festival is the second-biggest public event in Rotherham, after the Rotherham Show.

The Tropical Butterfly House
  is home to on average 35 different species of butterflies; it is not just butterflies that live in the tropical house, there is also colonies of toads, leaf cutter ants and Peruvian fern stick insects; you may spot five foot Iguana lizards, or some of the many exotic birds that are flying free in the tropical house. Also in the tropical house is a collection of reptiles and amphibians. There is also a Falconry centre, with regular displays from February onwards.

Don Valley Stadium
The stadium is situated on the southeast side of Sheffield which used to be the worlds largest centre of steel production. This has all changed, to be replaced by modern sports and leisure facilites, open green spaces and service industries. The stadium was designed and built to stage the World Student Games in 1991 and the legacy of this is a 25,000 seater stadium with a large floor area and an indoor 85 metre athletics straight. The capacity for concerts is 52,000.
