Lottery Millions lay foundations for Community hubs in Yorkshire & Humber
The Big Lottery Fund is today making a £50 million bricks and mortar investment in village halls and community centres across England. These buildings will be hubs for communities, hosting a wide variety of activities for everyone, young or old.

Dinnington Home made secure
An elderly lady whose Dinnington home has been subject to burglaries for a number of years has it made secure by the new Rother Valley South Safer Neighbourhood Team. After a crime prevention assessment, Age Concern, funded by 2010 Rotherham Ltd., have fitted door and window locks and alarms together with extra security throughout her home.
Safer Neighbourhood Teams were launched across Rotherham in April this year. The teams include police officers, police community support officers, special constables, neighbourhood wardens, Rotherham Borough Council officers including Streetpride and Neighbourhood Services, 2010 Rotherham Ltd, and a number of other voluntary organisations.
In the last three years, domestic burglaries in Rotherham have been reduced by almost 50 per cent.

Theft from Town Centre Craft Shop
Three burglaries have occurred at Craft Corner, Imperial Buildings,Rotherham in which 'Steiff' teddy bears have been stolen. Thieves have targetted the shop on three occasions. Other items stolen include trinkets, ornaments including artists bears and collectable teddies. Anyone with any information regarding the above is asked to contact PC Simon Bott on 01709 832223

Private work in Council Time
Rotherham Council Bosses launched an investigation after it was claimed private work was being done by staff in council time and that some people were at home when they should have been in work.

A ROTHERHAM councillor will face no further action after he said a man caught up in a planning row should be "taken out and shot".
