Bradfield, in the ancient parish of Ecclesfield, covered a very large area comprising Bolsterstone, Brightholmlee, Damflask, Deepcar, Dungworth, Ewden, Fairest, Foldrings, Gate, Green, High Bradfield, Holdworth, Hollow Meadows, Low Bradfield, Loxley, Midhope, Midhopestones, Moorwood, Onesacre, Oughtibridge, Rails, Rivelin, Smallfield, Stannington, Stocksbridge, Stopes, Storrs, Strines, Ughill, Waldershaigh, Waldershelf, Westnall and Wharncliffe Side.

Robert Revil (1615-1661) was c.22 Apr 1615 at Bradfield, son of Alice. He died 7 Sep 1661 Married Ann. They had a son, Thomas Revell c. 16 Jan 1641/42 Bradfield, died 5 May 1708.

This Thomas married Ruth Swallow(1650-1684) on 1 Feb 1671/72 at Bradfield.

Ruth was the daughter of William Swallow and his wife Anne of Brooksbank,Bradfield,Sheffield. Wm died 1669 and was buried 12 Aug 1669.

Thomas and Ruth(nee Swallow) had a son, Thomas Revell Christened 26 Apr 1677 at Bradfield.
