Pedigree of Hewet
Added November, 2008)
This pedigree of Hewet is from the collections of Naylor the York Herald. Hunter comments it is not to be depended on.
He adds : Sir Thomas Hewet in his will of 1659 speaks of a nephew Charles II.
All the witnesses in the Exchequer Suite in the time of Charles I (Sir Thomas Hewet v. Sir Geo. Lascelles), respecting the mill erected at Shireoaks by Sir Brian Lascelles on Parsons Close Shireoaks speak of Sir Thomas as son of Henry, son of Sir William Hewet. The early part of this pedigree wants much examination.
