Ward
Singleton and Ward family
George Singleton (1801-1872) married Esther Boyd (1806-1896) in 1829 at Cantley, Doncaster. George was a farm labourer but by 1861 he has 26 acres of land and in 1871 he farmed 230 acres only to die eighteen months later at The Green, Carlton, Worksop.
The first connection is through their daughter Martha who married Joseph Traunter in 1849. Their daughter Mary Elizabeth Traunter married George Ward of Letwell and they were given the Family Bible in July 1873.
The other link is through the brother of Esther, John Boyd (1810-1873) had son Isacc who married Alice Frances Ward in 1889. Alice is the daughter of William who is the elder brother of George mentioned above.
