Smelter of Handsworth

On 2 November, 1778 Anne Smelter of Sheffield, widow, and John Smelter of Richmond, Sheffield in the parish of Handsworth, exchanged lands at Darnall, Sheffield with Thomas Staniforth of Liverpool.

Margaret SMELTER (daughter of John Smelter of Richmond, b.abt 1813) married on 11 Nov 1834 at Handsworth to William Cadman b. abt 1809, Esq. of Handsworth Grange, Sheffield and Wath upon Dearne, merchant.

Philip Smelter of Goddard Hall, Brightside-Bierlow married Jane Burton (d.1802). Philip Smelter died in 1818 age 93 at Goddard Hall

W. T. Smelter of Richmond and Woodthorpe, Handsworth, held land in Wickersley in 18th and early 19th century
