Clergy of the Church of England Database The Clergy of the Church of England Database is an invaluable and authoritative guide to the careers of clergymen and schoolteachers in England and Wales from 1540 to 1835. It includes both a relational database and reference website. The database can be searched by name, place and ordinary (usually the bishop), and includes information about patronage, exercised by the crown, corporations, clergy and many lay men and women. The reference website contains lists of bishops, parishes including peculiars, a guide to each diocese, a glossary terms and much besides!
