Hunter states:He received the following information from William Buck of Bury St. Edmunds. The family used the arms of the Baronet family of Buck of Lincolnshire, some of whom lived in East Riding of Yorkshire.

Samuel Buck (d.1747) married Jane Aislabie (died 22nd July 1749, aged 64 years)
Anne daughter of Samuel Buck (d.1806) married Sir Francis L. Wood, of Hickleton Hall Doncaster on 15th January, 1798. Their son Charles Wood(1800-1885),became first Viscount Halifax. Also a politician, he was born at Pontefract on 20 December 1800. Lady Ann died at Hickleton in 1842. They had a daughter, Anne.
Katherine was the younger daughter of Samuel Buck(d.1806), who married Rev. Alexander Cooke, son of George Cooke-Yarborough of Doncaster. Katherine died May 1778, aged 71 years
Samuel Buck of Rotherham and New Grange was Recorder of Leeds - appointed July 27, 1776. He died at Park Hill, aged 60 in 1806. A marble memorial to him - by John Flaxman - can be found in Rotherham Minster.
Mathew Buck was Vicar of Brodsworth, he died 1768. The archives have details of a
