George BOWER of Manby, Lincs. marr. 1614 Barbara SMYTH of BRAITHWELL. He was living in the Plimoth Colony before 1637 (not a Pilgrim Father) where he was a planter. He lived initially at Scituate, then moved to Plimoth in 1639. He later moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts.
George & Barbara's children were born in England and died in Massachusetts:
- (1616-1687) Ruth m. Richard Knowles
- (1620-1645) Matthew
- (1627-1793) Benaniah, who was a Baptist, was fined 4 pounds for giving a glass of milk to starving Elizabeth Horton, an accused witch.
- (1629-1687) John, graduated from Harvard
- (1631-1665) Patience
- (1635-1677) Silence
Barbara died in 1664, and George marr. Elizabeth WORTHINGTON, d. 1681. They had a son, Jerathmal George died in Cambridge, MA in 1656
