Workshop of Stan Shaw
These photographs are the old workshop of Stan Shaw, born in 1926, the last of the Little Mesters. He worked from this workshop making penknives and always had a full order book right up to a couple of years ago when he was in his eighties. His knives sold for £100 upwards and they sold around the world with America and the royalty being big buyers.
Stan Shaw a leading craftsman, began his apprenticeship at George Ibberson's Rockingham Street Works in 1941.
