Fire at Moorgate

Roof timbers were destroyed in a fire earlier today at Daneshill, Moorgate Road, Rotherham.
Daneshill was, of late, a Rehabilitation Hostel. In 2006, the house and land were sold. It is understood the property was empty, awaiting redevelopment.
At the height of the blaze there were five fire appliances in attendance and strong winds caused the smoke to spread on to nearby Grange estate where visibility was so bad, car headlights were needed.
