Thurne

June, 2010

Thurne is a small riverside village which takes its name from the River Thurne. The village is not far from the mouth of the river, where it meets the River Bure, with the village located at the end of a dyke with the famous Thurne drainage mill at its head. The village contains a pub - the Lion Inn, a gift shop and plenty of public moorings for boats along Thurne Dyke. There are many local paths offering good walks. The Weavers Way passes through the village. The Church of St Edmund is located just out of the village.
