Official Opening of Trinity Community Centre
Exciting News: The
Official Opening of Trinity Community Centre in Thorpe Hesley, Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
The Centre will be officially opened on Sunday June 29th by Revd. Martyn Atkins, President of Methodist Conference,
and Rt. Revd. David Hawtin, Assistant Bishop, Sheffield Diocese. This is the culmination of many years hard work
celebrating the achievements of the Local Ecumenical Partnership of Anglicans and Methodists working together with the
community to build an exciting future for the communities of Thorpe Hesley and Scholes in north Rotherham.
There will be a special Service in Holy Trinity Church at 10am where we will be joined by local dignitaries and funders who have made the project possible, followed by the opening, a balloon release and buffet lunch.
The Centre has been funded by WREN, The Big Lottery Fund, the Methodist and Anglican Churches, many smaller donations and also by numerous fundraising events held by Holy Trinity Church.
The community building was awarded £175,000 as one of five finalists in the Waste Recycling Group Village Hall & Community Centre Challenge. Thorpe Hesley was chosen from 70 candidates in this national scheme.
The Centre has a Library working in partnership with RMBC which is open throughout the week. The Wesley Hall, Wren Room (when not used by library) and Mayflower Loft (upstairs meeting room) are all available for hire. Please contact Jill Ollivant, Centre Manger, on 0114 2459665 with any enquiries.
