Open Meeting for All Rotherham Tenants and Residents
Rotherham Federation of Tenants and Residents (RotherFed) will be hosting an open meeting for everyone to have their say on the future of Area Housing Panels (AHPs) in Rotherham. The main purpose of AHPs is to contribute toward creating better neighbourhoods and communities in a defined area that reflect the wishes of tenants and residents in that area. Rotherham Borough Council (RMBC) is presently undertaking a review of the AHPs and this meeting will provide a opportunity to have your say both on the consultation and how you would like to see the Panels operate in the future.
The meeting will include an initial presentation on the review by Tess Butler from Rotherham Borough Council. The main areas she will be looking at will be their governance, accountability and involvement. RMBC staff will be leading workshops to get your views. After a break there will be a soapbox session giving people a chance to speak for up to three minutes to a wider audience on their views followed by resolutions, with a vote. Please contact us in advance if you would like to speak or put forward a resolution.
The formal part of the meeting will begin at 1pm on Tuesday 22nd November 2011 and will be held at Springwell Gardens Community Centre. There will also be a mixture of stalls to browse from 12 noon and free pie and peas will be served at 12.15pm.The meeting has been organised by Rotherham Federation of Tenants and Residents (RotherFed) and though open to all, places need to be booked by phoning 01709 368515 or by email at info@rotherfed.org.
Springwell Gardens Community Centre is on Eastwood View in Rotherham.
